Community Lettering Workshop : Treasures in the Sand
Mollie Baxter’s beautiful ‘Some Tides’ poem was written as a creative response to community conversations hosted at The Exchange Creative Community.
I created a Morecambe Typeface to visualise the poem, using individual letters found in old posters and brochures from Morecambe’s entertainment past.
At Make My Day! 2018 Mollie and I co-hosted a community lettering workshop where people selected letters from the Morecambe Typeface from a giant type tray to create mini-poems. These mini-poems were all pasted up together to create a giant message board.
