Seaside Sculpture Day
Seaside Sculpture Day took place on Morecambe Promenade in the summer of 2016. The event was a participatory, free festival that promoted creativity, cooperation and immersive involvement in family-friendly artistic activity.
The seafront resonated to the sound of sawing, hammering and laughter; with mums, dads, kids and grandparents all working together to build their very own nautical artworks out of reclaimed timber and a handful of nails. Other activities included block printed flag making and rope splicing with extra fun added to the day by Inner State parading around the park in their Boat-with-Legs!
“Andy and I had such a great time at the event and thought it was a terrific idea and really well thought out and organised. A really good atmosphere … and it was wonderful to see the level of concentration and effort in the Boat Yard! Well done to you and the team for the original idea and bringing it to an artistic conclusion! Hope it’s one of many.”
