The Castlevecchi Chronicle
Over three days in March, 2019 Hannah Fox and I set up camp in Castelvecchi’s Fish & Chip shop in Paisley gathering true tales of adventure, love, life, loss and fish suppers from the cafe’s customers. We then turned these stories into a newspaper – The Castelvecchi Chronicle. Hot off the press, the newspaper was then delivered back to the café for the classic ‘keep em warm and soak up the grease’ function.
We presented our work back in the chip shop delivering the ‘news of the day’ as a ten minute sketch show. The audience then tucked into a delicious poke of chips served up in the newspaper.
The project featured in Francois Matarasso’s blog – A Restless Art and also on The Newspaper Club site.
With thanks to…
Alfredo & Linda, and all the wonderful friendly staff and customers of Castelvecchi.
Richard Weeks for creating the documentary film of the performance.
