The Trip the Light Fantastic mural was commissioned with companion artwork Take the Plunge.

The paintings were made as legacy artworks for Vintage by the Sea in 2014 to ensure that the festival left a positive, beautiful and lasting mark on Morecambe’s promenade.

The artwork is painted on two sides of a small electricity substation situated behind the iconic Midland Hotel.

The painting is a joyous typographical celebration inspired by Morecambe’s glorious evening sunsets and referencing the past and present uses of the painting’s location.
